RSPB Pulborough Brooks, West Sussex
An early start to twitch the American Wigeon, that was reported yesterday at RSPB Pulborough Brooks.
- The bird was showing well, on the bank on the opposite side of the water, about 40 metres from West Mead hide. It entered the water, after a short nap, and moved parallel to the bank, giving excellent views to the assembled birders.

- Also present were a small flock of Sand Martins and a single Swallow.
- The wigeon was a "lifer" for me and my first since the end of November 2015.
- Paul told me it is almost 20 years since the last one was seen in Sussex.
