25/03/2016 Rye Harbour for Sandwich Terns and Mediterranean Gulls

A gloriously sunny day at Rye Harbour with temperatures rising to 15 C.  



37 different species were recorded.

• The main reason for the visit was to see the Sandwich Terns and they did not disappoint -  I saw up to 70.

• At least 6 Mediterranean Gulls were also on show.

•   Avocet numbers were very good with well over 50 seen.

A super couple of hours at a crowded nature reserve where most of those present were not birders.
