10/10/2018 Spotted Crake at Wilstone Reservoir in Hertfordshire

  • I finally got round to twitching the Spotted Crake in Hertfordshire this afternoon.  This rarity didn't show until 17.45 - more than 2 hours after I arrived. 
The wait was well worth it with the bird providing some splendid views as it moved along the edges of the reedbed foraging for food. The Indian summer conditions also provided an enjoyable interlude while I waited patiently for the bird to appear.

Another very enjoyable twitch!
