WWT London Wetland Centre
With Martin/Carol and Mark/Elizabeth
By way of contrast with the Isle of Sheppey trips, we enjoyed the comforts of the WWT London Wetland Centre today. After watching the captive Asian otters being fed we turned our attention to the birding.
We missed out on our target species of bittern and water pipit, although both were seen today. I did manage to add to the year list however with Egyptian goose, gadwall, pochard, common gull and ring-necked parakeet. We also heard a Cetti's warbler and a water rail.
A most relaxing day!
2023 species count = 91
