I made 3 visits to the forest and recorded my first nightjar and woodcock sightings of the year.
Saturday 13th May 2023 Hindleap
I had a brief but excellent view of a flying nightjar at around 9.05 pm after some loud churring. Alas no woodcock.
Sunday 14th May 2023 Old Lodge.
This time a churring nightjar and 2 good sightings of roding woodcock.
Thursday 18th May 2023 Goat
This time I went with Martin and Alison to our favourite spot. Excellent, but brief views of the flying nightjar.
Safe to say the nightjars are back safely on the forest!
